New Year Resolution

"You crown the year with your bounty,
and your carts overflow with abundance"
Psalm 5:11

In the beginning of yet another year, many would have made resolutions, some would have decided to take their life, business etc in a different direction, hoping to make a difference in the new year. But did you know that our Creator God has already made a resolution about this new year for you?

In the bible, in the book of Psalms chapter 65 verse 11, the writer says "(God) You have crowned the year with Your bounty". What a great resolution. God has made the resolution to bless you and me with His bounty, with His abundance all thru the year and even in the days to come.

Now the million dollar question is "What is this abundance and bounty that God has resolved to crown the year with?"

1. Love
Did you know that there's one great quality of God which has been reiterated again and again in the whole bible? That quality is Love. If the whole bible should be summarized to one single phrase, I can bet that would be "The Love of God". God is abounding in Love (Psalm 86:5)

2. Faithfulness
The world can offer fun and frolic, but certainly not faithfulness. Only God can be faithful, because the bible says that He is "abundant" in His faithfulness (Psalm 57:10). Heaven and earth may pass away but His Words and promises will never, because He is a Faithful God.

3. Grace 'n' Mercy
God is abundantly gracious and merciful to us. A prophet by name Nehemiah in the bible, referred to God as "A gracious and merciful God" (Nehemiah 9:31). What a blessing !!!

4. Peace
Jesus has given us the wonderful promise that "He gives us Peace" (John 14:27) "Peace that passes all understanding" (Philippians 4:7). Watch those words, God never promised us a Posh life with extravagant pomp, but He promised us His Peace.
He promised us Peace with our neighbors and fellowmen (Psalm 147:14) and in everything we do.

5. Satisfaction
The bible says that "He satisfies you with the finest of the wheat" (Psalm 147:14), "He satisfies us with His Good (Psalm 104:28). We may not have surplus, but God will definitely Satisfy us with all that we need.

So, my friend as you start this year, this day, may I encourage you to remember that the God who created you has already made a resolution to crown the year for you with His Love, Faithfulness, Grace 'n' Mercy. And when He does so, you will sense the ultimate Peace. Ultimately, this will give you immense Satisfaction.
