Who's steering the boat?

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go. I will guide you with My eye ... Psalm 32:8

Pause for a moment and look back at the life you have lived thus far. Jus try to recollect where you were born and what you have been doing thus far and where you are right now. My friend, when you looked back at your life, I don't know if you have had a good or a bad past ... but if you look deeply into every day which you have lived till today, there's one truth that has never changed ... and that is "The One who created you has been in control of every good and bad times you had been thru".

Pause for a moment again now, and try looking at the future and see what you want to do five years from now. I bet you don't have a clear idea of where you are going to be and what you'd be doing in the next 5 years. We strive so much to do our best today to have a better tomorrow. People study hard to win a good profession. Once they settle with a good profession, they look for a good life-partner, and then things keep adding up like a house, a car and what not. Man keeps striving harder day by day to have a better tomorrow. But since man does not know his future for sure, he keeps seeking for a "better tomorrow". In other words many a time man tries on his own to steer the boat of his life and gropes in the dark 'cos he does not know exactly where his life is heading to.

The question that you and I need to ask every day of our life is, "Am I living this life in the way God wants me to live? Am I heading in the right direction and accomplishing the things which God wants me to? Am I on the right path to 'Real Success'"? My friend, the only one solution to all our questions and the only way to know the purpose of our life is to "know who is steering our boat".

Life's got its ups and downs and we get tossed many a time by the waves and storms that meet our way. But thru all these times you got to check who's steering the boat? Is it you or God? Sometimes we think that we know things better than God and we try to hold fast to our ideologies and our wisdom and try to do things in "our way", but then we fail in that endeavor. We got to 'Let go and Let God' in our lives. When we take the steering wheel in our hands and try to sail the boat by our own human efforts and understanding, when a strong wave blows we are inexperienced to sail the boat thru the storm.

In the bible in the gospel of Matthew chapter 11 verses 28 thru 30 Jesus gives a very simple invitation to all of us saying "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light." Jus leave the cares of this life into His hands, 'cos He knows best how to guide you. In the book of Psalm 32 verse 8 God says "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go. I will guide with My eye". Note the last line where He says that He will guide us 'with His eyes'. That simply means that all that you and I have to do is to 'Look up to Him and watch him where He is pointing us to'.

When Jesus is guiding our life and when He has every area of our life in His control, we can be sure that we're safe and secure thru any storm we may face in life. Would you please let the Lord Jesus Christ take control of your life from today?
