No Doubt

"But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt,
because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind." James 1:6

"Be still, and know that I am God" Psalm 46:10

When I first came into Pennsylvania it took me a while to get to know the area. During my initial days in the new state, I needed to find a post office close by. I checked with a friend of mine and he gave me directions to a nearby post office. But I doubted his directions because he explained to me the route as if the post office was in the next block. I doubted his directions as he too was jus a few months experienced in the new place. I drove to the area where the post office is supposed to be, but since I doubted my friend's directions I ended up getting lost. To cut the long story short, I finally landed in the post office after stumbling into many wrong avenues. After my work (at the post office) was done, when I drove back to office, I found out that the post office was really just a block away from my office, just as how my friend had directed me. But because I doubted him, I took the wrong route and had been driving right across the post office for over 5 times without knowing that the post office existed right where I was driving.

Sometimes this is our case with God's direction too. Sometimes we get so impatient when God's promise is not fulfilled in our lives right away. We tend to take our own course and end up worse than before.

There was a man in the bible called Joseph. when Joseph was a young boy, God promised him that his whole family would respect him and he will be a great man in his society. But within a short span of time, Joseph experienced just the opposite happening in his life. He was thrown into a pit, then sold to some Egyptian merchants, then landed in Potiphar's house where he was falsely accused and finally ended up in prison. But thru all these circumstances, Joseph never doubted God's promise to him. Nowhere in the bible do I read that Joseph ever rebelled against God or even questioned Him as to why he was put into such situations.

Joseph was confident that the God who promised him a great future will surely bless him as He promised. Joseph knew for sure that God is not a man that He should lie. He knew for sure that God will keep up His word, even though circumstances don't seem right. Joseph had
no doubt in the God he served and he never gave up on this God. God honored Joseph's faith on Him and He really made him ruler of the land and his family did come and bow before him.

The bible says that, for us to walk this road of life,
we need wisdom to know and do what God wants us to do. Wisdom is not just about gaining earthly knowledge and understanding. The bible says that the Fear Of God is the beginning of wisdom. When situations threaten us, when circumstances don't seem right, do we fear the God who promised us good things and trust Him and acknowledge the fact that He is in control? This is truly Wisdom, my friend.

If things don't go right in your life, or if you have no clue of what's going on in your life and if nothing seems to fit the promise of God, cheer up, because
Jesus is alive and still does miracles. Sometimes we need to be silent and totally depend on the Lord for His promises to be fulfilled in our lives. The bible says "Be still and know that I am God". When things don't go right in your life, Be Still and know that He is God and He is in control. Never doubt the path God takes you thru in your walk of life. When your ways are according to what God wants you to do, you need not have any doubt about the promise of God.

Before I could close this message, I would like for you to click here and read thru the words of the song "
No Doubt" written by Bob Hartman of the band called Petra. This song says it all.

May the Lord bless you and give you courage to face life with no doubt, as he continues to work in you to fulfill His great promise concerning your life.

Have a blessed day !!!

Your friend,
Eshcol
