Lord ... Say The Word

"Lord ... Say the Word and my servant will be healed" Luke 7:7
"Go", Jesus replied, "your son will live". The man took Jesus at His word and departed. John 4:50

Here's two incidents recorded in the bible where two senior influential officials approached Jesus requesting to heal their loved ones.

The first official, who was one of the most influential men, a Centurion in Israel. One of this centurion's servants was very sick and about to die. This Centurion has much faith in the Word Of God. When Jesus came into his town, Capernaum, this official sent word to Him requesting Him to say jus one word so that his servant could be healed. Jesus did say the word and healed his servant.

The second guy was another high-rank official in the town of Galilee. His own son was very sick. This official, in spite of being highly respected and feared in the town, had reverence for Jesus and had faith in His healing. He came to Jesus and begged Him to heal his son. Jesus jus told the official to go back home and his son will live. The official took Jesus at His word and found his son alive and well when he got back home.

Have you been asking God for a promise or a blessing or something good to happen in your life? Has it been too long that you've waited and are on the verge of giving up? Or are you still waiting for God to do a dramatic change which is visible and convincing, for God to prove that He has done the miracle for you?

Would you believe me if I tell you that, in the bible, God has already said the word and has decided to bless you? Yes, my friend, sometimes we fail to take God at His word. Many a time we want to see signs and wonders, but miss to take God at His word. But the Bible says that Heaven and Earth may pass away, but His Word will not. In another place in the bible, God says that His Word will not return void to Him. It will accomplish the work for which the Word was spoken.

When the first war between the USA and Iraq happened in early 90's, there was this hot news about the Scud Missiles. It was said that the scud missile is operated remotely and a person can operate it's "start" from the control room remotely. The scud missile is said to have much accuracy that it can even break a glass of water kept inside a small room of the target bombing area. Yes, Jesus' words worked like scud missiles in the official's life hitting the very target (his son) in his house, healing his son.

Jesus did not use any magic wand or graphic illusions or adopt any other fancy way to demonstrate His miracles. He used some of the simplest means to prove the power of God in Him. When He was to turn water into wine in the marriage at Cana, He did not ask for fresh grapes nor did He ask for loads of sugar. He simply asked people to fill the jars with plain water and prayed over it (in other words He said just the words He was supposed to say). And God did the miracle. When satan tempted Jesus, Jesus told him "Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God". Yes, there is immense Power in the Word Of God.

My friend, maybe we have not been able to see or hear God's word in our lives. Maybe God is wanting to say something to you regarding your life. At this point, may I encourage you to spend time with the Lord and get to hear what He's saying to you. Maybe He has already spoken the word and you have turned a deaf ear to it hoping to see a loud demonstration of His miracle. Maybe it is high time for you to ask God to open the eyes of your heart, so that you may be able to hear His Word and see His glorious miracle in your life.

May the Lord bless you as you seek to spend time with Him. May He help you to hear Him as He says His word which will change your life even at this moment.
