You are not alone

"Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me." Psalm 27:10

Every person in this world longs to have someone around to talk to, to spend a good time with. This is true right from the first day when God created man. Soon after God created man, He knew that man cannot survive alone in this world. In the very first book of the bible 2nd chapter and 18th verse God said "It is not good for man to be alone." Yes, God knew that every man in this world needs someone to care for and love. To some of us, God has given good parents to love and care. To some, He has given good spouse, children, a good family.

Even still there can be times in our lives when we long for someone who could really care for our inner longings, to love us unconditionally and someone to whom we could open up our hearts and talk to. I'm sure that many of us can relate to this situation. Sometimes we can't open up our hearts and tell certain desires of ours or certain desperate needs to even the closest of friends in this world. Not even our parents who gave birth to us can at times understand our situations. This is what the above-mentioned verse means. Our parents or family need not necessarily forsake us or cast us out. But there are times when they really cannot help.

But the truth is, there is Someone who loves us just the way we are, Someone who can hear us just as we open our heart and tell our heart's longings and desires just "as it is", without us having to even give a second thought as to what He would think about our requests. I'm talking about Jesus who loves you just the way you are. Even though our father and mother forsake us, unable to help us thru our difficult times, Jesus will carry us thru. He is the only friend who could stick closer than the closest person we could ever have in this world.

In Psalm 23 we read "Though I walk thru the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil. Your rod and staff comfort me". My friend, when you walk thru difficult times, when you feel you are left to go thru tough situations all by yourself, jus remember that even though your eyes can't see, the reality is that God is watching every problem you are going thru. When things go great in your life, even then God is watching over you. You are not alone at any point in time.

During times when all our friends are gone, all our loved ones come to a point where they can't help us, when we're left all by ourselves to handle some tough situations, we jus need to do the following,

1.
Acknowledge Him
Bear in mind that Jesus is still around and He knows what you are going thru.

2.
Believe in Him
He can work it out for you. He knows what you need, He knows what's right for you and He will see you thru.

3.
Confide in Him
Only when you acknowledge and believe in Him, will you be able to confide in Him and tell Him the deepest longings of your heart.

4.
Depend on Him
Don't take things in your own hands, but depend on Him, 'cos He knows best what you need and when you need it.

As you face the future, let me encourage you to Acknowledge, Believe in, Confide in and Depend on Jesus, because He's still working on you, to make you what you ought to be according to His divine plan.

Have a blessed day!!!

Your friend,
Eshcol
