Wait On the Lord

"Those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint."
Isaiah 40:31

The Webster dictionary gives the following meaning for the act of "Waiting" or the verb "Wait"

1. Remaining inactive in one place while expecting something
2. Stay in one place and anticipate or expect something

Waiting is one act which almost every human being hates. How many times have we heard people curse and rage when something gets delayed! Yes, waiting is painful.

Well, let's give a second look into the definition of waiting and see what other acts are involved while waiting. When a person "waits" for or on something, he does

1.
Remain inactive - But why? Because he is not in control of the situation. He just can't do nothing but wait.
2.
Expect something - After all, that's the very reason he's waiting for - to get that something which he longs for.

Waiting, requires patience, and patience requires the willingness to persevere thru the waiting period which in turn requires to keep the ember of hope glowing till the expected thing is received.

I'm sure, most of us can relate to what I'm talking in here. May I ask you, my friend,
"Even while you are trying to read thru this message, is there something which you are waiting to happen in your life? Is there something which you have prayed for, for a good many years and you are hoping that God will do what you're asking him for?" Maybe God had promised you that He will do what you're praying for ... but have you been waiting for too long?

In the bible, we read a good number of incidents where great saints of God had to "wait". God promised Abraham (a man who was already 75 years old), that He will give him a son and that his descendants will be so many, countless like the sand in the sea and yes, God did do what He promised, but
it took around 25 years for God to fulfill that promise to Abraham. God promised a guy by name Joseph that He would make him a great man, it took Joseph a good many years before he really got to the place and position which God promised him.

But if you see closely thru all of the many incidents in the bible where people had to wait, they were able to wait for so long simply because
they KNEW THE GOD WHO PROMISED to them. So now, the question is, "Do you acknowledge that there is a God who is in control of your situation and you can sure wait for Him to fulfill His promise?"

Yes, when we wait for too long, many a time it really does not make sense. But remember that
God has a great plan for your life even as you wait. He loves you so much, my friend. He is never too late. God never makes mistake in your life, because He has promised that He has a plan to prosper you (Jeremiah 29:11).

But while you wait, let me encourage you to have "complete faith" in the Lord who has promised you a good life. Many times our human mind tells us that we're wasting our time by waiting, but the bible says
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not in your own understanding. In all our ways acknowledge Him". If we go by what the world says (that waiting means wasting time) and if we ignore God and try to find out the way by ourselves, we will surely mess it up. And I'm sure you wouldn't want to do that.

So, let me encourage you, my friend, to have total faith in the God who sees and knows your needs.
Jesus never fails, He's never too late. We read in Ecclesiastes 3:11 that "He hath made every thing beautiful in his time". And He can sure do it in your life too again and again.

Have a blessed month ahead !!!

Your friend,
Eshcol
